My dear Elizabeth

I was very pleased to
get letters from Gledswood a
a few days ago by the San
Francisco mail giving a
very much better acct of the
children as a whole and
more especially of Bessie – for
whom I really was anxious
and the intended change
to the sea side I hope very
soon took place – and
very speedily I trust showed
the good effect of change –
The girl unless naturally
delicate would soon get
strong I am more wishful
to hear of Isabella – her writing
was so changed and
shaking as if she had not
a bit of nerve or strength
