Grange – Ayrshire 29th Sepr/ 75 –

My dear Elizabeth

I have just had your
5th Augt letter = and as the mail
leaves Ayr to day it really is
a case of writing by return of
post – I fondly hope that
you and yours may escape
the measles – I am really
grieved for poor Isabella's
anxieties – and she poor
soul is not well enough to
undergo – such a lengthen
strain on her health and nerves
I shall be thankful could
I hear that they had been
able to have a change – there
is nothing so valuable after an illness – Such
a fever after measles – is very
alarming – and enough
to give them deep anxiety –
