my writing to Edward Hamilton he
came over with Mrs. H. to see the Exhibition
and enjoyed it much. Edward Ogilvie came
up to me in the Cafe of this Hotel a
day or two after last from Spain. Then Dobie & Charlie
made their appearance (last from
Italy) and then Polhill last from
Germany. [indecipherable] Campbell came
up to me this morning. In short one
is constantly stumbling upon people
from the Colony. I had some very
agreeable days with the Hamiltons
who have gone to Switzerland, and
since then with Dobie & Co. We spent
the day at Fontainebleau yesterday
a most delightful trip. We really
enjoyted a 3 hours drive in the
