expressed their unqualified satisfaction
with the opposite parties. Amongst
the horned cattle, I had many a good look
and acquired information with a view to
some future purchases. I did not forget
the Camden dairy you may be sure, but purchasing here
& at this time would have been inconvenient
and attended with much expense & risk.
The "Ayrshire" I considered to be the best
of the Dairy breeds. I did not like the
"Alderney", but should like to know
something more of the Dutch milking
cattle & the "Canton Fribourg". On
the whole the Ayrshire were the best for
us. They are small and rather delicate
but twice as large as the hardy little
Kerry race which might also be very
