My dear Sir

No doubt your
numerous correspondents
have told you that the state
of my health has obliged
me to leave my cure and
parsonage in the hands of a
Mr Barlow and come
hither to gather strength
to take a voyage to England.
I am happy to say that the
change of air has been so
useful to me that I am now
feeling quite strong – but I am
very susceptible of cold, for
which indeed the voyage to
England is proposed as the
remedy. I have written to
