Smith, William. "Letter to Thomas Hassall." Hassall Family Papers 1793-2000, vol. Series 2: Sub-series 3: correspondence, volume 3, pp. 1203-1832, 1822-1828. File 4, State Library of New South Wales, 3 July 1829.

i'm not sure about this letter. the date looks like "July 39" which is clearly not possible; and Smith had already written to Thomas on July 30th (A 1677 / 3/pp.1987-1990); could this be a poorly written "31"? and is it in the catalogue? there is nothing for A 1677 / 3/pp.2025-

Lucio Alvarez

I think the '39' you're unsure of is '3d' - third.

ghassall

ok - we'll go with July 3 - thanks. i can't find the letter in the catalogue. in fact, I note 10 letters from William Smith to Thomas Hassall in 1829, only the letter of 30 July is catalogued.
