[MS 1952]

I have now [Revd? (Reviewed?) ?] recapitulated as minutely as my
recollection will permit every particular relative to the
misunderstanding between Mr S. & self, & at the same
time I am convinced that all who see or hear the
foregoing will give me credit for having conducted myself
as a man & as a respectable & peaceable member of society.
What Gentleman allow me to ask would not have been
satisfied with the apology I have made, under all the
circumstances, if he was not the slave of pride & ignorance.
Mr Stout speaks of my subordinate station Mr S.
ought not to forget that he filled a similar subordinate
station under Mr Isoby. - I cannot conclude this
without remarking that Mr S. since the purchase of
the junction sold by Mr Jonathan, has I have been
informed by the men of the station, more than once
unnecessarily & unbecomingly interfered with them -

So fully does my conscience [dictate?] that I have only [upheld?]
that station in life which it has pleased the Almighty to
place me in that no consideration shall induce
me to make any further concession, but on the contrary
if Mr S. [mocks?] me with similar epithets to what he has
done I shall deal with him in a much rougher manner
I am sure if a Magistrate descends to scurrility his threat of
resignation will be acceptable rather than otherwise.
As it may in the opinion of yourself & also of some of
your respectable relatives [injure?], (what I have always
been anxious to promote) the influence & interest of your
family in this part of the Colony it is my full deter-
mination, as soon as Mr Lawry's stock &c is delivered
over & other matters put in a fair channel for smoothly
gliding on, to resign my situation of which I will give
your Brother timely notice. - If you can spare a
few minutes of your valuable time I shall feel
considerably obliged by hearing your opinion of the [indecipherable]
of the case now before you - With best wishes for the
welfare & happiness of yourself & Family - I remain
