My dear Hassall

This day I have with my great pleasure
received your letter dated Mon. 18th 1827 In receiving a letter
from a dear friend at a distance I seem as it never to be
brought for a time into his immediate society; I imagine
him to be speaking, and according to his style, picture him
continuing partaking of the [indecipherable] & the gay appearance.
