residence there while frequently from the
heat of the climate - salt provisions & other
causes he has had upwards of eighty patients
at a time upon his books -
I also visited the Agricultural Farm
with Mr Parker - [indecipherable] to the settle-
ment do not appear to me likely to be so
fertile or beneficial as those situa-

There is every posi-

will succeed nothing but time [&?] opportunity is wanted to give
it a fair trial.
In my journey
with the Commandant up the River Hastings
I was peculiarly struck with the luxuriousness
of its banks being very superior to any
River I have yet seen both with regard
to soil timber & herbage - The low
lands from the richness of their soils opens
a delightful prospect to the Agriculture
while the forests bid fair to repay
the Grazier & the woods of the country
seem to form a desirable article of
trade for [Merchantizing?]
