I have read the Sidney papers and regret that your Farther should have been so much abused he is too good and tust worthy in character, to recieve any not saying my any malicious attention of the kind; where in those cases is much more justified than to notice it. I am sorry to say that Mr Wills is in confinement. I had occasion to go to Hobart Town and I was with him in ? he is not likely to get and gut altho' the rest is now trifling what it .. I have exerted myself much on the farm on his account, and if God spare me health i mean to ?? so to do - but how long the present may be in my position I cannot say; should I in a few moths be driven from it - which I find is quite certain, I look on the future with hope and on the past with cheerfulness, will knowing I have done my part - and have to the utmost exerted myself to promote my Familys comfort and respectability; Samuel is

[MS 739] now very useful to me and Charlotte is still at the School in the Town she is very happy their and is now become a teacher. Mrs Clark the lady of the house is exceedingly fond of her, in fact she will not let her leave. I intend sending two more of the girls with her. Elizabeth and Louisa my last is now 18 months old. i think you are going on in a fair way, I should like to see you and the little onces, but it will be a long time ere that takes place I fear. Charlotte begs her kind love to Mary and thanks her kindly for the bonnet and into ? for the ribband, she wishes Mary would write to her buy; also to be remembered to your Mary ? I hope this will find you better and Mother quite well and all your family, remember us kindly to Charles, Samuel bets his love to al, be so kind as to say if you have heard from Hull and oblige me with a few lines at your leisure. I beg to be remembered to Mrs Hassall and accept the kind Love and affectionate regards of yours C. Wells
