1775 St Austell Gaol 1826 My Dear Sir,

Your letter from ? dated 27 Mch I have received and will instantly tell you all that I know on the subject of your anxiety. My brother-in-law Mr Jon Hassall had the ? enjoyment of all my concern in N S Wales & I have to say, I have not recieved a line from him since I left the colony. But from his wife I received a letter dated March 3 1825 in which is the following vis Jonathan has just crossed the mountains to reover some wool that has been stolen, it was his intuition to have written by Mr Sparks but was called away, I believe the wool is come in the Ship that Mr Sparks comes in". Since the ? notice I have not heard one work, tho from the Rev T. Hassall & some other branches of the family I have had several letters but nothing of wool coming. These letters howeer advise me of other letters which have not yet come to hand. Why the wool has not come, or whether they have sold it in the colony are questions which I cannot answer, but in which I am much concerned. One reason why I think Mr Jonathan Hassall took the liberty of drawing the Bill of £100 on me was this, he thought I had funds in hand, whereas I had before (long before) the arrival of his Bill sent him out property to the amount of from 2 to 200 £ but which, tho' he had ordered it, he seemed not to have
