I am happy to say that through the tender Mercy
of our heavenly Father we are all pretty well I think
I mentioned to you in my last the death of my
Youngest and that all our Children had suffered
much from the hooping Cough they are quite
recovered and are as well as usual. Our schools
continue I hope to improve we had a very -
interesting meeting in December with all the
Schools at Parkin, where several specimens of work
were exhibited by boys and Girls which did them
much credit We as usual continue [our? ?]
among the Native and find their behaviour pretty

good and are sometimes attentive to the instruc
tion offered them.

You will probably hear of the Massacre
of some of the [Hawes?] crew by the New Zealanders
which will afford you a specimen of their threachery
