[MS 908]
pleasure to see your face again in the flesh
and some others who cleave to the land
I hope to see with pleasure, but how shall
I meet those who are running the downward
road. It will distress me to see them.
Remember me kindly to any of our
former pupils especially such as respect
religion. Tell them if life is spared and
strength [indecipherable] I shall go about with
great pleasure among them and see
how they are all going on. Remember
us kindly to your mother, brothers
and sisters. My dear old wife seems
cast down and discouraged at the thought
of going, and I feel regret at leaving our
poor people who are daily looking to
us for medicine &c for the body and for
instruction and teaching, but I have
weighed the business and now want for
an open door and trust this will
be afforded in good time
[MS 909]
If our stipend be very small, we shall
I trust easily bring our mind to our condition
if we may but give our young ones an oppor
tunity to make themselves useful before we
leave the world. You know they are all
Australaticus but two & where should they
go but to their own country.
Our very kind respects to
your good lady.
I remain
With much respect & affection
Yours in the best bonds
Wm Pascoe Crook.
