a tale about the New Zealanders they are dying around
us without hope and without God and Christ I have
witnessed many heart rending sights of their perishing

to die as their fathers died: we regularly visit them
at their residence to impart instructions and are
endeavouring to educate their children and adults Our
schools offered us much encouragement we have from 60 to
70 boys adults and Girls living with us many of whom are making
considerable progress in their language the translation goes
on slowly we have however the greater part of the Liturgy
in use every sunday nearly the whole of the Gospel of
St Matthew is translated a part of which has been examined
by the body of Missionarys and approved. We journey -
among the Natives about us to impart religious -
instruction as often as possible the success of which
we leave with our heavenly Father we often return
weary and say "Who hath believed our report"

I am especially requested by Mrs Clarke to enquire
about Mrs Hassall and the dear little ones we can
scarce form an Idea of your number it [has been] so long since
we heard about them give our very kind and affectionate
regard to dr Mrs Marsden and her affectionate family
