too plainly on the visages of
the colonists - and on my
landing the other day it
was particularly noticeable -
as a proof of what I say
during my tour of [indecipherable]
four months - my increase
in height and strength
was something wonderful.
It is now with difficulty
that I endure the heat
and can find that I
daily am at a discount
here - on a greater ratio
than any improvement
while away, Consequently
I will soon find that
my health will suffer -
and when business
is not flourishing in
this way so conclude

the result - It is a matter
which shall [indecipherable] earnest
Consideration - and if at
all practicable I shall try
another sphere. The foregoing
draws the following lines
from my poetic lore errors
to be exposed --

No pleasure here, on earth I find,
or comfort by the way.
What earneth pleasure I leave behind
And for it - will not stay.
