been set on fire & the grass burnt off It is so
very hot that I cannot well write more to night

Mr & Mrs Robt Campbell have arrived & I send
this by him - The Infuenza is now getting very
severe among the Children & others - Yesterday
[Meal?] who lives near Westwood got them out of a
[indecipherable] & was a good deal hurt I went to attend
him & have been again to day - It is the [first?]
sick visit that has been pleasing gratifying to me
for a long time - [Chappe?] ran off from your Uncle
yesterday - Your Uncle comes down on Tuesday
next we shall some of us write by him -
The times are still very alarming but I

Harriett has been very poorly to day but is better
this eveng- Miss Thorpe wants a french book will you
get it at Fords if you can & send the price also [put?]
