Papa got up safely on Saturday
he had three storms on his way
the first day he took shelter
at John Halls' who would bother
him with questions. I think he
told you J.H. had the management
of the gang on the land.
Papa heard very bad news of the
sheep that they were all dying.
Robert King shd [should] not leave
until Friday, so that he might
have gone to the [hope?] of the
[Bill?] if he had only known.
Aunt Martha brought Frank
back to us yesterday Mrs [Mott?]
is taking care of the house.
Aunt wishes to know when

she will receive a piece of your
wedding cake, her cannot me-
[ntions?] her own you!
Mama received a letter from
[indecipherable] today she wants them
to go back with Mrs Knight
I would go directly if Mama
will, and it is a
long way from home to, that
I cannot make up my mind
Aunt says I must not go, or
I shall settle down there al-
together. No fear of that Mama
says, for I am to be the old
maiden. What I hope I shall
not be is cross[indecipherable] or my
nephews [indecipherable] [indecipherable] not like
me

I scarcely think you will see Mama now before
the holidays for the gig is broken and part of the
harness. The other missing. I drove Mama to Mrs
Cowper's and the man left the horses [head?] while
he shut the gate and off [indecipherable] Captain to the
stable cleared the posts of the first gate and
tried to get through the back gate but that was
too small so he left the gig behind[?] him, this
is the story we were told. How [indecipherable] I know not.
[indecipherable] a gig is broken which it is not likely [or liking].
Papa and [indecipherable] have returned home Thursday
Poor Lady is dead Mr King and I tried to give
her sulphur pills but she would not take them.
I cannot inform you where the lady was laid
nor [indecipherable] put on mourning, [indecipherable] great
a [indecipherable] for that.
[indecipherable] yesterday then what is
up ing[?] very fast Mama [indecipherable] with all
her love, and [indecipherable] me
