Sept 9, 1942.

Dear Tom, Your letter was sent to us here. We are delighted that you may be here and that we shall have a chance to see you again.

I am grateful more than I can tell for your great interest in my inquiry.

quieter than Washington and cooler in summer. But it only has 3.5 rooms.

The address is:

1226 South Thomas St., Apt 2,

Building 14, Barcroft,

Arlington, Va.

We shall have no private telephone unless I can wrangle one from the Company which is unlikely.

My working address is: Legal Branch, Legal and Fiscal Division, War Dept, Room 3E648, Pentagon Building, Arlington Va.

My telephone, unless we are moved to some other location in the building is RE public 6700, Ext. 5415.

Phila has gone to Cambridge to finish there and to bring a few

things down here and will return on the 15th or 16th to get things ready here. The bus service is very good. The buses start from 10th and D, N.W. and take about 30 minutes.

We are looking forward to seeing you soon.

With many thanks, James,

Yours
