Dear Dr. Tresidder

In answer to your March leter, I have been wanting to write that I do hope to return to Stanford for a refresher course in foreign languages after my military service is over. I majored in chemistry at Stanford and I held a job with [DuPont?] for 4 years which demanded a reading knowledge of German and French. I wish to brush up on these two languages, in which I am quite rusty, and I would like to study Russian and possibly Chinese. Since I believe I am only

eligible for a [one?] year refresher course I would naturally want my language courses concentrated.

I do not believe I will need housing accomodations as my family and I hope to purchase a home on the penninsula when the war is over.

For extra-curricular activities, I would be interested in lectures on foreign countries feeling that knowledge is [key?] to understanding and absolutely necessary if world peace is to be secure. Such a series of lectures has inexhaustable possibilities. In a lighter vein, I always appreciate the opportunity to hear the famous musical artists.

I hope this is the type of information you are seeking and that your March letter brings you many interesting suggestions.

Looking forward to the time when it will be possible to return to Stanford as a student.
