Richard Rabbett Lieutenant (j.g.) U.S.N.R.

March 31, 1945 At sea

Dear Mr Tresidder,

Your letter was sincerely appreciated by myself and others of the alumni that I have contacted recently. It is decidedly gratifying to know our future is of interest to those who can be of the most service to us in the immediate post-war period.

Concrete suggestions are hard to offer when all contact with the University world is lost such as it is when one is underway at sea all the time. However, I can answer your questions as they apply to myself.

I intent to return to Stanford and enter the Graduate School

of Business. Although unfamiliar with the routine of the school I will hazard the suggestion of a more intensified study program. Obviously to complete one's education sooner and thus make up for time lost in one's desired field while in the service. Possibly the segregation of the slower from the faster students would be an aid in solving the time problem.

Extra-curricular activities will be of little interest to me, but for the under graduate are invaluable; for in themselves, they are an education, at least I found them so.

I hope that I have been of some help and also that I may have the pleasure of meeting you in the near future.

Sincerely,

Richard Rabbett Lt. (J.G.) R Rabbett USNR 1st Lt. & Damage Control Officer U.S.S. Ramapo (AO12) FPO, San Francisco
