the world) That was totally different than the Beach Boys, but equally enjoyable. Most people just relaxed on the lawn and listened to Beethovan, John Philip Sousa (actually we clapped along with sousa), "The Stars and Stripes Forever" and other such patriotic songs. It was really quite a stirring experience especially when the fireworks started immediately after that with the Capital behind us, the Washington Monument in front of us, and the Jefferson Memorial off to one side all lit up (except the Washington because the fireworks were over it). I never fail to marvel at the reactions of kids to fireworks. (Basically I played people-watcher on the 4th most of the day) Everything from absolute fascination and one little (really little -- like a year) kid absolutely mesmorized (or is that mezmorized?) by the lights and not knowing what to do or where to look next -- to on the other end one poor little kid just scared to death of the noise and the bright lights. I loved watching them as much as the fireworks!

That's really all my "news" per se. I also went to a concert at Wolf Trap which is an outdoor ampitheatre in Virginia with buildin seats in the lower area and a big grassy slope for picnics for only $5 a person. Anyway we saw (or heard from where we were sitting would be more appropriate.) Chick Corea who is a jazz pianist with a jazz band too and he was great too!

Other than that, work is going well and I'm enjoying it and my spare time at night to read and sleep and get some sun on weekends (not much though -- it's been too hot to just bake in the sun, and that's not good for me anyway...) I can't wait to go to New York the first of August with Vickie and it looks like a couple of my friends may be visiting in August so that should be fun too----
