Dear Folks,

I'll start this now, just before dinner, and then leave it
open to tell you any interesting news from our final Stuttgart
meeting this evening.

It's been fairly uneventful since the Thanksgiving vacation
with you. Wish we could have more such visits. This is of course
the beginning of "Dead Week" and finals start a week from today.
I'm not really worried though, since I have only two this time -
Economics on Tuesday from 8-12 and German on Tuesday from
1:45-3:45. Just one busy day and it's all over. I have my last
history seminar this Wednesday, for which I'm reading a brilliant
book by Walter Lippman. After that I'll be ready to start studying
for finals (usually I can't start until Sunday night, so this should be
a breeze!).

Well, my hopes for the Stuttgart election were not quite fulfilled
I was nominated (one of 6) for president, was one of the top two, but lost
in the run-off by about 5 votes. I was later nominated for business
manager also, but sort of declined because I've had enough of that for
a while. The whole thing was a good deal though, because now the
kids know who I am, and this makes getting acquanted much easier
and who know, maybe in the spring elections over there, things will
improve. Tonight we'll get final info on flight, etc. - tell you later
