me to Wm Tews, where I met with
a kind reception— After a cup of coffee

made, we entered into arrangements
for a visit to Greetland
a Village about four miles distant
still entirely (as it were [personal shorthand]) among
the mountains. W. T. & my self
accomplished this in a post chaise
and had a pleasant ride among
the most romantic and at the same
highly improved country for the
local situation being so broken that
I have yet Seen— The names
of "Briggs"— and "Bentley" both
