1916 MONDAY 3 January

H. S. S. & J here, sent 2 u 5h to Rockville for 3 to Bran @ 26.15 60 days. Cleaned out rest of rotten ensilage. milk wagon broke down spilt 20 gal milk.

January TUESDAY 4 1916

H.I.S,. & S here, Herbert broke cupling full out of heavy wagon. Cleaned out calf pen, Hauled manure 0/2 day to C. H. field crushed about a bbl of corn. Fixed "mack" L.I.B worked on it around 1½ hours at shop.

Bought 2 gal gas at corner 25 cent per gal 50. 5 gal from store charged for "hock".

1916 WEDNESDAY 5 January

S. H. J. Here Stuts away, 1½ men putting manure around trees in big orchard. Went to town in mack took L.A. B. C[ ? ] chicks for 10.00 spent 5.00 for sundries Fifth wheel for wagon etc.

H & J here, Sawed little wood Took broken wagon to C[ ?]

Put 6 heifers in stable wrapped stanchions. Pd taxes $188.30 Sold Susy to cousin Margaret for $10.00

1916 FRIDAY 7 JANUARY

H. J. & S here, Aunt Eliza $90 note 25. rent. Haul her wood if load of straw. Snow in morning 3 in. Cracked corn etc. got traction band fixed for manure spreader. Pd H in full $10.00 Took 2 puppies over to Dr Adams.
