5^th month 1870

2^nd 9^th W^m & self hawling rails to fix up
pasture fence Evan mawling rails
After dinner W^m at his lot Evan picking
up stone in same field I fixing
wheelbarrow. Father away on bus _ all
day. bought a $40, cow of Thomas
J Lee. Clear most of the day
though we had a few showers

3^rd 10^th W^m harrowing 16 acre field and I
laying it off for corn. Father out there
and jobbing about house in morn.
Quite a heavy thunder shower came up
about 1 PM which stopped field work
after it was over W^m & Andrew hawled
rails for pasture fence & Father racking
off cidar, I took carriage to Spencerville
& worked on wheelbarrow Andrew
brought the new cow home this morning

4^th 11^th Raining all the morning and part of
the afternoon Father & W^m boring
posts all day. I went to meeting in
the morning and worked on wheelbarrow
after dinner. Andrew jobbing Evan away.

5^th 12 Put on a three horse load of hay
by 8 AM which William took to town
I went down in Rock away with Billie
& over to Alexandria to spend the
night. Clear. Father & Evan
putting up board fense.
