8 th month 1869

4th 18 Jno Cook with 3 of Uncle Asa's horses &
our Rose took 50 Bus of wheat to Laurel
& brought load of shingles back for Uncle Asa
got $1.52 for wheat. Father went to Ashton
I helped Ben grind scythe which he used
for brambling the rest of day.

5th 19 Ben took 50 Bus of wheat to Laurel got
$1.45 for red & $1.55 for mixed
Father & self worked about house in the morn
after dinner I helped Dr Boutell fix
stage. At 7.30 P M a large number
of people assembled & we had our Tableaux
in splendid style. Father & I were in
the first which was the Clerk of Copenhurst
Sister Dr B & self were in Faust.
Dr & self were in Turkish scene.
After it was over which was 11 P M
we had a dance.

6th 20th Ben hawling sand, Father seeing
about a wheel for cidar mill. I took
Mrs Woodhulls clothes to get washed, I
took up the stage. After dinner I wrote
up this diary which I have neglected
for two weeks.
