6th month 1869

2nd day 7 th Ben & I worked corn until dinner after
which William and Ben worked Father
went to Baltimore to see about R. R. bus
After dinner I planted sweet corn in
truck patch & lima beans in the young
pear orchard. Generally clear.

3rd 8th Father at work on the road for Grandfather
Ben l ost 1/4 of day at his lot. William Ben
& self worked at Mangold wortsel seed until
dinner after which Ben finished plowing
corn in the west field Wm & self worked
at Man seed until 6 PM when Wm
plowed his lot & I surveyed the west field
found that with the young peach
orchard there are 12 A 3 R. 1 P. I calculated
it by triangles as in on[e] of the miscellaneous
ex in Surveying. --

4th 9th Ben left at 5.30. 2,hr50m Cost. Father at work
on the road. We cleared out house adjoining
[heniky?]. Ben and Wm worked at sugar beets
up to 4 PM when Ben plowed potatoes for
1 1/2 hours. I got the reaper out and gave
it a good cleaning before dinner after which
I cut the grass in the lawn with the same
at 4 PM. I went to sugar beets and finished
them. 10 young turkeys hatched. Strawberries
in perfection. Quite cold all day. Wheat
just beginning to form in the pods. Re[tch?]
