Bertha Crum read a printed letter from Dr. Lulu Waters, an
Osteopath of Washington who flew to Europe last summer for a convention
and told of her experiences in a delightful way.
Rose Hutton read a challenging article by Shirley Moore, "When
Will You Start to Live". We put off too much, waiting for the proper
time to do the things we would like to do, and the time often does not
come.
Grace Thomas told of a radio interview. A child was asked about
her favorite odor, and she said, "A nice clean dress". How often
just such a homily thing will bring back a tide of memories.
Eleanor Kirk asked if anyone has had experience with Asphalt
tile. It is satisfactory, but Cork Tile was recommended most highly.
Rebecca Small read a wonderful article by Dorothy Thompson
from The Ladies Home Journel, "A reason to Live and A Reason To Die".
Katherine Adams read an article on that great American, Carl
Sanberg, who has just passed his seventy-fifth birthday.
Esther Stabler an account of the Little Falls Meeting, written
in 1852.
Deborah Willson "Thanks and Amen" a good cheerful slant from
"Briton and the Cold War", in Harpers.
An election was railroaded through, and the same officers
will remain for another year.
There was no school report.
There was no report of a Hospital Board Meeting, but Deb.
Willson told a little about the Donation Day. There was not so much
Home canned goods as sometimes, but better general donations. Edith
Thomas said there had been a large cash donation. She would let the
secretaary know how much and she could put it in the minutes. The to-
tal as later phoned the secretary is, $1,934.17.
The meeting adjourned to meet with Esther Stabler on the fifth
of February.
Mary Reading N. Miller
Secretary.
