Mrs. Marshall, another guest read "Lines to a Daughter.", a delightful
poem on when to say yes and when to say no.

Rose Hutton read an article about a carpet factory in the
Virginia town of Glasco, where Janney Hutton has a Parish. It is a
large enterprise started in the real country with inexperienced help.
How the whole town works in it, and is run, more or less in connection
with it as far as hours go. Schoolx hours are such that mothers may
work the day shift, and be home when the children get home from school

Louise Hough told us Edith is preparing her book for a
second Edition. The first was four thousand.

Emelene Hill read a poem about Christmas. "We won't do much
this year" She asked whether or not there is a State law requiring
stools or chairs be furnished women clerks during slack hours.
It was suggested we investigate and bring our reports next time.

Elza told us August is a rest month, and told us some
things not to do in the garden.

After we adjourned Stella and Bea served a perfect summer
luncheon.
