of their Indian Projects.

Margaret Jones read from The Friend's Intelligencer the humorous
definition of a boy, and a splendid article, "Teaching by example", showing
that we as parents and grand-parents have a big problem, which cannot
be left entirely to the school.

Ethel Thomas read an article by Dr. Thomas and read in 1908. It
told the history of the Lyceum Company", and the building of the meeting
place, which we now know as The Community House.

Grace Thomas wanted to know why some bacon draws up when cooked,
and some does not. Most people seemed to think it began with the breed of
hog, followed by how it was fed, and finely how it was cured. However
ask Charlie Thomas or some of the other old timers around, and you
will undoubtedly be told it all depends on the time of the moon when
the butchering took place.

Miss Tibbie Such had a few comments.

Esther Stabler read from "Gilbert Elgar's Son".

Helen Hallowell read from her gift book of poems, this time
about the oak tree.

Mrs. Lindley Clarke read from The Reader's Digest, and gave some
personal stories of psyshic experiences.

Mariana Miller told of a book by Benjamin Hallowell about Margaret
Dodd who came to this neighborhood as a teacher at Harewood and Woodlawn.
She read, "Ask and woman", some delightful bits.

Mrs. Merritt spoke with feeling of her appreciation of attending
the meeting.

Grace Thomas cut back her chrysanthumums, as directed at the last
meeting, and they look very healthy.

The Hospital Benefit, July 26th was announced.

Adjourned to meet at Weneover, August 4th, at 10-30.
