Iris Beall said in Pheonix Arizona for the week prior to the
Rodeo everyone appearing in the street had to wear some article of
Western attire.

Ethel Thomas gave the origin of the word salary, or regular
payment, which is derived from the "salt money" of ancient days.

Helen Farquhar gave us some good thoughts.

Deb Willson asked what to do about "chickweed" in the lawn. She
was advised to write to Mr. Scott, in Marysville, Ohio, who special-
izes in lawns.

Rececca Small spoke of Harewood being open for the garden
pilgrimage in May. She also read some poems written by Lola Iddings

Miss Alice Pierce nothing.

Elsie Stabler read a poem about "Wild geese", and asked about
lilacs, and how to make them bloom. She was told they need, Sun,
Lime and Time.

Hospital Report. Helen Moore said she could not give figures
given at the meeting of the Board, but that they had decided to again
try the plan of last year instead of a supper. There is a drive for
the building fund going on now. There will be a mobile blood donor
unit in the neighborhood this summer.

School Committee. The last P.T.A.Meeting was back to school
might when parents went to school by bus, and attended classes by
their children's schedules. That organization is sponsoring a play,
"George Washington Slept here", which will be given at the school,
May 20th and 21st.

The Secretary reported having heard from C.A.R.E. that they are
not giving aid to the Indians at this time, so a check is being sent
through the American Friend 's Service Committee as suggested at the
last meeting of The Association.
