Mary Nichols article told of the wonderful success of the
Air Mail service between New York and San Francisco. 14 million letters
have been carried and none have been lost and no accident of moment
having taken place.

Mrs. Downey told of the Asparagus Centennial, Arginthall.
France is supposed to be its birth place, though it has been traced to
Greece at a much earlier period when it was called sparrow grass.

Alice Tyson read an article from the London Times telling
of a window placed in Westminister Abbey, London, to the memory of members
of the Brittish Air Service by an American Mother whose son gave his life
while in the service. She is Mrs. Lewis Bennett.

Emily Massey had no article but she advised the members to
subscribe to the "White Ribbon Herrold", as the sincerity of the paper is
beyond chriticism especially alony policical lines.

Halley Bentley's selection was from Alice Covey, entitled
A Fable of Cloud Land.

Ellen Farquhar gave in some extracts from an article in
the Literary Digest called "The Sunny Side of being One Hundred Years Old".

Elizabeth Stabler read a touching little poem called
Grandmother's Quilt.

Mrs. Merl Christie gave a humorous description of a frog.

Mary Scott told of Famous trees at Georgetown
University. Pecan nut and coffee beach.

Margaret G.T. Moore told of the use the Chineese make of
rice straw, owing to the scarcity of wood they even use it to cook with.

Madge Jones article advised the forming of young girls into
political clubs so that they may become familiar with the work they will
be called upon to take part in in the future. One such Club called
