Funck and Mary B. Thomas was read by
the latter, the writer thought Cardinal Gibbons
was inconsistent in his recent utterances
against the womans cause. M. B. Thomas
by request gave Susan B. Anthony's answer
to the Cardinal's argument.

A number of contributions were promised
to the proposed tea for the benefit of the
Friends home in Baltimore.

The secretary gave from a Washington
paper "No funeral junket this time" highly
commending the widow of the late Mr.
Chickering, M.C. from New York who had
declined, graciously but decidedly to have
her loss made the excuse for a trip on
the part of some of her husband's colleagues
at Government expense.
