My darling -
I had not intended writing today
as you have had visitors all the morning
and I like leisure to be with thee; but
two postals from Sister saying that Jean
has an attack of acute indigestion, and
she has had to have the Dr. decided me
to send at least a scrawl. In Sunday's
postal she says Jean's cold has settled
on his bowels, and she took him to the Dr
who says it is nothing dangerous., kept
him quiet a few days and he will be
all right. Monday's is even better news
- the Dr had just been and reported
J. decidedly better, and says Shelter Island
has done him a great deal of good and
he will soon be all right. I suppose it
was some change in the weather or
some food which did not agree. Children
will have those turns, and Jeans digestion
is his weak point and will be til he
has passed his seventh Yr.
Why did thee send the money back, dearie?
