Jessie B. Stabler was elected permanent
Treasurer.
On motion an initiatory membership
fee of 25¢ was voted and the
names of members present in person, or
by proxy enrolled and the amount
of fees placed in the hands of the
Treasurer.
A poem entitled "Woman's Work" was
read by Ellen Farquhar and ordered to
be filed as a part of the minutes.
The name "The Montgomery Woman's
Suffrage League" was unanimously
adopted as the title of the organization.
On motion of Mary Magruder, resolved
that the next meeting be
called at the pleasure of the President
at which additional members for
the year 1889 be received on payment
of the initatory fee.
On motion, Caroline N. Miller,
Mary E. Moore and Mary Magruder
were appointed delegates to the convention
of the National Woman
Suffrage Association to convene in
