Fred McReynolds has two kinds
of squash with luxuriant foliage
but not bearing well. Some say
they do not sit well in wet weather.
Cody Webb was told that it
would be better to and [?] a bank
first & then if needed, sow grass
seed later on.
Cut off the runners on lima beans
if very thick & keep them pinched
back.
Delphinum should be left 8 to 12
inches tall when cut back.
Albert Stabler reported on the
industry of some rats in the city:
house that moved six bushels of corn
cobs from one side of their cellar to
the other side, & some of those caught
measured 17 & 19 ins. long. No need
of a "Pied Piper" when Albert works
his traps!
