Henry J. Nichols had some
samples of wood that showed
the work of the Elm tree beetle
in New Jersey, something from
which we so far have been
spared as well as from the ravages
of the Japanese beetle. But be
fore warned to be on the lookout
for the latter this summer
as it is getting a foot hold
nearer us all the time.

The treasurer's report gave us
a balance of $4.24 and as
our annual dues to be paid
in May will take care of
our expenses for the coming
year, it was decided we
give our balance to Mrs. Peyton Wheylan of the County
Welfare Board to be used
for the purchase of seeds for the
gardens of those on Relief.

Readers for May meeting
Eliza B. Thomas & Alice V. Farquhar.

Adjourned to Edgewood on May 4th.

We are always sorry not to see the
Tanglewood garden later in the season when
there is always so much to admire, but even
on an early spring day we can but enjoy
the natural beauty of the whole place.
