Mt.Airy, June 2, 1936.
On a lovely breezy June afternoon
we gathered at Mt.Airy with the
Frederick McReynolds's family for
this first meeting of the Horticultural
and it was suggested that the
place was well named as the
wind swept across the hills &
valley that give the distant view
as pleasing to the eye.
After reading & accepting the
minutes, Mrs. Griscom, a guest,
read Edith Hallowell's selection
on "Garden Blights" of, we hope,
uncommon varieties, being the
comments made by friends visitors
in a friends garden, one showing
little interest or appreciation in it
another exploitation her own as she
viewed her friends, while a third
gave unasked advice on many changes.
Lillie Stabler's article told of the
importance of feeding shade trees
in order to produce finer appearance
& develop a greater
resistance to drought, low temperatures
& attacks of parasitic
