Mary Tilton's reading was
about weeds which were described
as plants that would
get in the way & the most
hardy & persistent are usually
those that have gone through
a great struggle for existence
and survuved.
Milton Bancroft's contributed
some excellent suggestions for
laying out a garden, expressing
the need for a design in so
doing in order to bring out the
best in the planting. The
paths are of paramount importance, a formal garden
needing grass between the beds
while in an informal one stones
should be used.
