June 3rd 1924.

The Horticultural met on May 6th
at "Norwood", with our President
and very new Secretary both present.

I have heard that "some of us seek
greatness, some acquire greatness, and
some have greatness thrust upon us."
In my case greatness was certainly
thrust upon me, and only time
can tell how unwise the Horticulturals
choise [choice] may prove to be. However I
promise to do my best not to place
this always wise society in such a
humiliating position.

The meeting was called to order
on time, Cousin Mariana Miller, who
had acted as secretary at the previous
meeting, kindly reading her very fine
minutes. They were adopted with out correction.

Cousin Corrie Brooke read in
Dorothy Henderson's place. She
read us of a new blackberry which
has been said by several nurserymen
to be the largest they have ever seen.
