further instructed its architect to prepare
designs for model booths along the highways,
which will be inexpensive & in keeping
with the surroundings. Thus
hoping to put an end to these unsightly
refreshment booths & hot-dog stands
which deface the landscape

Interesting to read of objections to commercial sprawl along the highways, relating to highway refreshment stops. They would probably look quaint to us now.
