The other officers were continued for
another term of two years. Mariana S.
Miller took the notes of the meeting
in order to help the new secretary to
that extent.
As there was $4.75 in the treasury, it
was not thought necessary to collect
any more at present.
Neither of the appointed readers being
present, their places were filled by Mary
Reading Nichols and Anna J. Nesbit.
The former gave us a menu of an
all American dinner, the main ingredient
of every dish having originated in America.
And been won from the wilds by Indians
before the white men put foot on the
Continent. It is as follows: -
Tomato Soup
Fish
Turkey
Patatoes [Potatoes] Squash
Sweet Patatoes [Sweet Potatoes] Succotash
Beans
Corn bread
Pineapple Salad
Tapioca Pudding
Pumpkin Pies
