Edgewood.
May 2nd 1923.

After our long cold winter we looked for an
early spring, but rosty days still hovered
around, & on April 3rd we came together
for our first meeting at The Maples, and
we were reminded of Mrs. Herman's lines
where she says -

" I come, I come! You have called me long,
I come o'er the mountains with light & song;
You may trace my step o'er the wakening earth,
By the winds which tell of the violet's birth,
Byt he primrose stars in the shadowy grass,
By the green leaves opening as I pass."

The regular officers filled their places, & our
Pres. in his opening remarks spoke of the
love our Society bore for Charles F. Kirk -
& altho' he was not a member of the Horticultural,
he was frequently in attendance,
& it was a privilege to have him with us
on many occasions. We will miss his
cordial hand-clasp, & his genial, loveable
nature will never be forgotten by us.

The minutes of the October meeting were read
