The Maples.
April 3rd 1923.

The October 1922 meeting of the Horticultural
was held at Knowlton on the regular
day, and as usual in this month, in
time to partake of a bountiful luncheon.

At the call of the Pres. we came together
to hear the minutes of the last meeting
as the first "Order of business."

We were glad to have our Sec. with us
again, but she was excused from serving
& we will wait until next year to
claim her services & good minutes again.
Cousin Ellen Farquhar, as one of the readers,
gave us some "Notes from a Md. garden",
by W. F. Massey, where in among other things,
he gave figures to prove how often poultry
raisers fail in making that business profitable;
but he admitted that poultry can add
to the profits of a farm, & that the place
for them is as a part of the farm stock.
Anna Farquhar gave us two appropriate
poems of Louise Clarkson's on "Autumn".
The Forethought reminded us of there
being only a few more weeks in which to finish
our work out of doors for this season, but
