As a preventative against the enemy
that attacks cantaloupe vies, put moth
balls in the hills close to the vines,
nasturtium seeds & onion sets also been
used in the same way.

In order to have lily-of-the-valley
bloom in the house, take them up after
freezing weather, put in a box of earth,
cover with manure, leave out of doors
for a while, later bring in & force.

What is the best way to get a good set
of grass at new Invercauld, & should
anything be done this fall? Get
ground in good condition, use plenty of
seed -- commercial fertilizer better than
manure in order to avoid weed seed
in it. Work can be done this fall.
