Suphate of Zinc will kill chickens.

P. T. Stabler described a hen house he
had built recently, two stories high, one for
roosting, above, and one for nests, so arranged
that the hens could come down from upstairs
in cold weather, and in the absence of their
owner, without having the hens unlocked
in that way securing many eggs. To keep
the nests free from vermin, use hog hair
in the nest and sycamore leaves, or ashes
in the bottom of the nest.

B. Miller offers as a proposition that
we should none of us allow dogs in our
tenant houses, as something ought to be
done to protect our sheep, which are our
lost crops. And as the Law will not help
us, individual effort should be used.

Quest. How can we whitewash smoked walls.
Put ashes in the first coat of
whitewash. Also Carbolic Acid.
