April 28, 1931, Home Interest met at Kennet Cottage, the home
of M. T Fussell Norris and Margaret Fussel. We were glad to have our migratory
member back again from the southern suns, but we were sorry to find
him confined in his room with a lame foot. The Fussels showed their
appreciation of our former members. Samuel Bond and wife by having
Sam act as chairman for the evening. We had as guests Francis and
Trene Miller Sam and Emma Bond, and Mr. And Mrs. A. B. Beall. The
famlies not represented were the H.arry Stablers, the M.aurice Stablers and
the Morris's. The minutes of the last meeting, at this place were
read, followed by the minutes of the last meeting, after which the
Secretary believing in equal rights for both sexes and division of
labor, passed the minute book over to your humble serrvant. He
proceeded to put down the records of the evening. The next three
meeting places were announced Leacroft, Overlook and Roseneath.
By request of Annie Kirk, Springfield took the place of Roseneath.
Report of program Committee for May was Miss Sarah Kirk and
Emily Coulter, and for June Duanne Stable. As Mortimer Stabler
was absent. Jean Coulter had to give the forethought for both. It
was a classic getm after the manner of Poe and will be presented in
our archives. Miss Coulter's first theme volume of verse will have on the
fly leaf -- "Dedicated to Home interest to whom I owe much for
inspiration and guidance." Forethougth Committee for May was
Mrs. Alan Farquahar and WM. John Thomas. Huldan Janney moved that
as historian for the past year and request her to continue for the
coming year. Milton Bancroft gave a report for the community council.
Those elected at the annual meeting of the Council for a term of
three years -- 1st zone, A. D. Farquahar : 2nd zone F. L. Thomas; and
3rd zone, M. O. Stabler. The proposed amendments to the constitution
of the Council allowing each affiliated organization to have one
member in the Council to serce for a period of one year were carried.
Joseph E. Janney was elected to represent home interest. All voted
in the affirmation except Huldah who voted no. He felt that had
Home Interest realized what that no meant as well as he did he would
have been defeated. It was decided that written communications
should be continued instead of having messages carried by
