seemed to be to have a number of active and
energetic deputy sheriffs appointed who
would snd any marauders promptly to the
House of Correction and make a wholesome
example of them for the benefit of the rest
oif the Army stragglers and also of the inhabitants
of our own County.
In point of time occupied the chicken
question ranked next in importance to
Coxey's Army; and the first phase of it
brought up was whether a hen with bronchitis
is capable of caring for a family she
being minus a voice. The suggestion that
she might take a Guinea hen into partnership
not being favorably received, her owner
was advised to give the chickens which are thoroughbreds, to another
hen tho some sensed to doubt whether
the enlightened hen of today would allow
herself to be cheated with another her's
chicks however ready she might have
been to take them 20 years ago!
No one could suggest a remedy or account
for swelling on the throats of young
chickens that is proving fatal at several
places.
