The Enterprise Club met at Rock
Spring on the evermemorable, cold Saturday Jan 4th1879,
& not withstanding the intense cold & the distance to be
travelled, six of our members gathered around the comfortable
coal stove & organized at 6 PM with Wm W Moore as
Forman & Benj H Miller acting for our absent Secretary.

The members present were Wm S Brooke, Granville
Farquhar, E P Thomas, Wm W Moore, B H Miller & our host, &
as guests we had Chas F Kirk & Chas Farquhar,

The minutes of last mtg were read but those of our
meeting here one year ago were missing. The election
of a Secretary for the ensuing year, being next in order, Chas
H Brooke, was, by acclamation chosen to fill that position.

After supper the following questions were asked.
1st Quest. Granville Farquhar, has some wood & rails to cut
in clearing a piece of land, the wood rather scrubby & a good
many poles among the rails; what price per Cord for the wood
& per 1000 for rails ? Ans 60 cts for each.

2ndQuestion. Charles Farquhar has a number of calves; shall
he let them run to straw rick & feed a little meal
or buy hay ? All advise buying hay.

3rd Quest. How shall Roger Farquhar get clover seed threshed ?
We left him to find out.

4th Quest. Our host wants to know whether to feed or haul
small Peerless potatoes .? Advised to keep for seed,
as they will likely be scarce.

5th Quest. Do your cows eat clover hay with appetite ?
My great complaint that they did not.

6th Quest. Would you throw water over your ice, such
weather as yesterday & today ? A general discussion
