Wind. S.E.& Changable. Cloudy & Clearing. Ther. 74o
Tues. July 14th, 1896.

Warm & oppressive early in the
morning, but a nice breeze sprang up
about 9.o'clock & the sun was clouded
over making it more pleasant for
a time. I took H and we drove
over to "Riverside" to call & also at
"Eldon". Afternoon I washed the
phaeton. Old "Uncle Henson" called
to see me. I called at Ashton on
way home this morning. After
supper Mrs Elias Hallowell brought
her son "Gerald" to the office for
advice & medicine.

Wind. Variable. Clear & Cloudy. Ther. 74
Wed. July 15th, 1896.

Another "close" hot day. Afternoon
Millie came to mill and
went up to Allan Farquhar's to
see a game of "base ball" which
did not amout to much. I
walked up also, and suffered
with the heat very much.
H. Dora & Edwd put a new
cover on the sofa in dining
room. After supper Edward
went with Willie to "Fairfield"
to spend the night & gather
or "pick" blackberried for
preserving or canning.
Mr. Chas Hallewell called
again with his boys.
About ten o' clock there
came up a thunder gust
which seemed to come from
all directions, and was
very threatning in appearance
but proved to be chiefly an electric
storm so far as this locality was
conserned: much lightning and
thunder but little rain or wind.
